“Jack Charlton 2.0” “The boy is class” Leeds United fans comment on White video tweet

Pontus Jansson is leaving, cue panic. We are replacing him with a youngster on loan from Brighton, cue outrage. Ben White plays his first few games, cue adoration. That pretty much sums up the timeline of Ben White’s time at Elland Road. You can add on that the appreciation and adoration is growing.

Ben White has turned into a fantastic player during his time at Elland Road. He arrived raw for Championship football, having only ever previously tasted League One football (Jan-May 2019 – 16 games/one goal) with Peterborough and League Two football (August 2017-May 2018 – 51 games/one goal/five assists) with Newport County.

This season he’s been a double ever-present for the Whites having started each of their 37 Sky Bet Championship games and played every minute of their table-topping campaign. It is a campaign where he has demonstrated that the has the necessary wherewithal to easily cope at this level and this is enough to have Premier League sides such as Liverpool thinking he has the potential to do so in English football’s top-tier competition.

Leeds United fans love him and that can be seen in their responses to the following video:
