Matt Smith tapped in an injury-time winner as Salford City ended a four-game losing run at Newport County.
Junior Luamba hit the post before setting up Smith on 92 minutes for his 25th goal of the season.
Newport's Omar Bogle struck the crossbar with a second-half free-kick but the hosts slumped to a seventh loss in a row as their season slides away.
But Salford had by far the more chances as Ryan Watson, Adrian Mariappa and Curtis Tilt all went close.
Newport teenager Nelson Sanca impressed in defence with a player-of-the-match display in only his third appearance.

GC has done well to keep Newport in League 2. However if Newport are to move forward and push up the football pyramid they might be better off looking at managers who win league's rather than just staying in them.
We need changes for next year or I fear for our future.

Never in the game but meaningless as was the defeat to Rochdale last game 21/22
Mcglaughlin, Payne, Clarke, Delaney and Willdig are the better players in our side, in particular on the ball, to replace them with Bright, Bondswell and waite who werent even getting in the squad earlier in the season speaks volumes.
